SDASF
The Problem
SDASF's website is outdated and inaccessible, limiting engagement with volunteers, organizations, and potential pet adopters. Its weak branding and lack of a strong online presence made outreach difficult.
The Solution
We redesigned SDASF's website to improve usability and accessibility, creating both desktop and mobile versions. The result is a user-friendly platform that supports SDASF's mission of promoting pet adoption and responsible pet care.
THe PROBLEM
I'm Unsure How To Support Initiatives!
The San Diego Animal Support Foundation (SDASF) is a volunteer-driven organization promoting pet adoption and responsible care. Despite offering great events and resources, their inefficient website has limited engagement and impact.
Defining Redesign Objectives
We structured the redesign around their core objectives to create a strong foundation.
Establishing Brand Identity
We drew inspiration from other organizations supporting animals...
...to create a moodboard and style guide.
Who Is This For?
We identified three distinct stakeholder groups and built the new information architecture around their user flows.
THE SOLUTION
Streamlined Content & Information!
We reduced the navigation from 10 tabs to 7 and optimized each page for both mobile and desktop.
More Engagement = More Adoptions
Despite the extensive content, we created intuitive groupings, modernized the branding, and developed a mobile version of the site.

These improvements led to faster, more efficient interactions across all stakeholder groups, resulting in more volunteers, events, donations, and pets adopted.
THE Reflection
Communicate & Iterate
Balancing creative vision with clear communication, flexibility, and client expectations was key. Prioritizing content-first design and planning for responsiveness ensured effective information delivery and smoother workflows.

My key takeaway: Keep iterating. New insights can arise at any stage.
